Hippy 16th Birthday Cake

My last cake was a hippy inspired 16th Birthday Cake.  I was given a slight brief but the rest was left to my imagination.

What fun I had!  The icing was tie dye created by mixing the Birthday girl's favourite colours red, purple and orange (her hair was red at the time I created the cake!).  Although the Birthday girl is not a 'girly girl', I managed to add red glitter for her name and age.  CND symbols were hand crafted and added to the cake as requested.

The Birthday girl's response to the cake was 'wow' - the pleasure on her face made it all worth it!

Have been looking at Christmas cutters, moulds and sugarcraft flowers for the Christmas cake inspirations.  There is so much choice for design inspiration.  For my own cake, I want to keep it simple and I fancy a Christmas rose spray with some foliage this year.

Working on a 9th Birthday cake at the moment...more to follow with a photo.
